ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- It's about to be a long couple of weeks for Michigan football, as its regular season winds down, and the team waits to learn of its opponent and destination in the postseason.

The loss to Ohio State will loom large for the next year, until the rivals meet again on the gridiron, but Michigan has a chance to end the 2025 campaign on a high note, most likely against a high-profile SEC opponent. But today's college football has relegated those non-CFP games to scrimmage status, and non-playoff games have lost their luster in recent years.

Even so, for Sherrone Moore and the Michigan Wolverines, the plan is to attack the final game of the year as hard as possible, not treating it as a glorified scrimmage, and doing what they can to earn the win.

"It'll be about preparing for the game, just like we did last year," Moore said. "Preparing for the bowl game as much as we can and getting as good as we can at football. It's a big time, whatever it is, it's a chance to have 10 wins, right? And 10 wins in college football is huge. So we're gonna attack it. Whoever we have to play, whatever scene, wherever we go, we're gonna enjoy it. We're gonna enjoy it, but we're gonna attack it, and we're gonna get better."

Even with that being the case, Michigan is under no illusions that a win in December will right the wrongs of what happened in October and November. The idea behind attacking the bowl game with panache is to not only end the season on a good note but also to set the stage for the next season.

"Ending the season with nine wins is obviously better than we were last year, but we already know our goals, right?" Moore said. "What we wanna do and how we wanna approach everything. So nine wins is great in a lot of places, but we wanna be better. But really, to them, it was to stay together cuz it's so easy you can get pulled apart. We're not gonna point fingers, we're gonna figure out what we need to fix, what we need to attack, and we're gonna do it together."
