The NFC East division remains the NFL's most parity-filled league as the 2025 season begins with an unprecedented 20-year streak of no back-to-back division winner. The last time a team won the division in back-to-back years was when the Philadelphia Eagles three-peated in 2002-04.

The Eagles won the four-team group in 2024 ... but even with their multi-game lead of the division in 2025, the door is not yet shut on a the pattern stopping at two decades in length.

The streak leaves us with all the belief that another division champion is indeed possible ... but it has been the last few weeks that have played into the hope more than anything.

The Dallas Cowbys are riding high on a three-game winning streak, defeating the Las Vegas Raiders, Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs in each game after the team's Week 10 bye. The latter two wins are even more impressive given that they came against last year's conference champions and over the span of four total days.

Now as Week 14 approaches, Philly sits at 8-4 and Dallas is 6-5-1. The Eagles dropped their second game of the week on Black Friday, falling to the NFC North-leading Chicago Bears (9-3), 24-15. The Cowboys, of course, defeated the Chiefs 31-28 on Thanksgiving Day.

This makes Dallas 1.5 games behind Philadelphia in the division. The two split their season series, dating back to the Eagles' 24-20 win in Week 1.

Here is a look at each team's five remaining games, along with their opponents' current win/loss streak entering the rest of Week 13 action on Sunday.

Dallas Cowboys Remaining Schedule

Week 14: at Detroit Lions (7-5), Streak: L1 (loss on Thanksgiving to Green Bay Packers)

Week 15: vs. Minnesota Vikings (4-7), Streak: L3 (at Seattle Seahawks on Sunday)

Week 16: vs. Los Angeles Chargers (7-4), Streak: L1 (vs. Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday)

Week 17: at Washington Commanders (3-8), Streak: L6 (vs. Denver Broncos on Sunday)

Week 18: at New York Giants (2-10), Streak: L6 (at New England Patriots on Monday)

Week 14: at Los Angeles Chargers (7-4)

Week 15: vs. Las Vegas Raiders (2-9), Streak: L5

Week 16: at Washington Commanders (3-8)

Week 17: at Buffalo Bills (7-4), Streak: L1

Week 18: vs. Washington Commanders (3-8)

The formula is simple: If the Cowboys win out - stretching their already improbable win streak to eight games to close out the schedule - and the Eagles lose at least two games at any point from here on out, the Cowboys win the division.

So, you're telling me there's a chance.

Dallas' Week 4 tie with the Green Bay Packers helps tremendously here as it is more beneficial than a loss would be. The Eagles will surely be favored against the lowly Raiders and Commanders (twice), but matchups with the Chargers and Bills are interesting. Philly's current two-game skid and rumors of tension in the locker room between quarterback Jalen Hurts and his teammates only make matters worse here regarding the prospect of a rebound against teams who largely have their stuff figured out.

Philadelphia is shooting for a win anywhere it can find one, but it needs at least four of the last five games to end in wins in order to barely squeak by with the division. If Dallas goes 4-1 the rest of the way, the Eagles would only need to win three games.

For Dallas, the next two opportunities to keep up this momentum will come in primetime spotlights, with Week 14 at Detroit scheduled for "Thursday Night Football" on Dec. 4, and Week 15 vs. Minnesota on "Sunday Night Football" on Dec 14 (after a mini bye week).

The Cowboys should be hopeful with the matchup against a banged-up Lions team that will already be without star tight end Sam LaPorta. Pro-Bowl wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown exited Detroit's Thanksgiving game early and did not return, and the team was denied the retirement return of star offensive lineman Frank Ragnow this week after a failed physical.

The temperatures may be dropping, but this race in the NFC East is only heating up as Philadelphia and Dallas are skating two completely opposite trends as we turn down the back stretch of the 2025 season.
