The Carolina Panthers have shelved another interior offensive lineman.
As announced on Saturday, the team has placed guard Chandler Zavala on injured reserve. The 2023 fourth-round pick sustained a calf injury in Monday night's 20-9 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThis marks Zavala's second stint on injured reserve this season. He had already missed four games, from Weeks 5 to 8, due to a knee injury.
Along with Zavala, the Panthers have also had to put Robert Hunt (biceps), Austin Corbett (knee) and Brady Christensen (Achilles) on injured reserve here in 2025.
To fill Zavala's vacancy on the active roster, Carolina has signed cornerback Kalen King from the practice squad. King, a seventh-round pick of the Green Bay Packers from the 2024 NFL draft, has yet to appear in a regular-season game.
He'll help provide depth at the cornerback position for Sunday's contest against the Los Angeles Rams—which will not see the likes of Jaycee Horn (concussion) and Corey Thornton (fibula).
