Even without Jayson Tatum in the rotation, the Boston Celtics have been impressive to begin the season. They're playing with intensity on both ends of the floor and have adopted a more balanced shot profile to get the most out of Jaylen Brown and his supporting cast. Boston is currently ninth in the Eastern Conference with 10 wins out of 18 games.
There's no doubt the current team can improve. There's enough young talent to believe that some internal development could help elevate the Celtics further. Nevertheless, we won't know how good the current rotation is until Jayson Tatum is back on the court. The All-NBA forward is currently recovering from an Achilles tendon injury. There's no guarantee that Tatum will be back this season, although the fanbase remains hopeful.
