Sixers injury news: Final playing status for Paul George vs. Nets

NEW YORK -- As the Philadelphia 76ers get set to take on the Brooklyn Nets in the final NBA Cup game on Friday, they will be short-handed with Joel Embiid, Kelly Oubre Jr., and VJ Edgecombe--three opening night starters--sidelined due to injuries. The Sixers will have to take on a scrappy Nets team without some key pieces of the rotation.

The Sixers will get some reinforcements in the form of Adem Bona. The second-year big man has missed the previous five games due to a right ankle sprain, but his return to the floor helps Philadelphia's big man rotation behind Andre Drummond.

As for Paul George, who missed Tuesday's loss to the Orlando Magic after reporting a right ankle sprain after Sunday's loss to the Miami Heat, he will also return to the floor. The Sixers will have the 9-time All-Star for just the fourth game of the season.

Tip off from the Barclays Center is set for 7:30 p.m. EST as the Sixers look to put a halt to this 2-game skid.
