Ahsoka took the world by storm when it first hit Disney+ more than two years ago, and one star from the series has finally opened up on her status in Season 2. After she first debuted in The Mandalorian, and then later in The Book of Boba Fett, Rosario Dawson returned to the role of Ahsoka Tano in live-action in Ahsoka. The series also featured other stars in large roles familiar to fans of the hit animated series, Rebels, such as Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, David Tennant as Huyang, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, and Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger.
As with any continuing series, Star Wars and Disney also recruited some new names to join the cast of Ahsoka Season 1, including the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, and Claudia Black as Mother Klothow, one of the witches of Dathomir who now resides on the planet Peridea in another galaxy. Black recently sat down for an interview with Bleeding Cool, and she was asked if fans could expect to see her in Ahsoka Season 2. She confirmed that Mother Klothow will not appear in Ahsoka Season 2, and the reason behind her departure might surprise you.
“I’m going to be transparent. They picked up season two, picked me up with it, and then Disney, which is structuring things differently these days, could not pay me what I needed to be paid as a single mother to keep all my responsibilities going at home in Los Angeles, because they were filming in London. It was not something that they could make happen, and therefore, I had to bow out for season two. It was very sad for me.”
When Does Ahsoka Season 2 Come Out?
Disney has yet to announce exactly when the second season of Ahsoka will begin streaming. However, production on Ahsoka Season 2 began earlier this year and has already wrapped, which has fans speculating that it could be released before the end of next year. Star Wars has to get through The Mandalorian and Grogu first, though, which will mark the franchise’s return to the big screen since 2019’s Rise of Skywalker. The Mandalorian and Grogu, and Ahsoka Season 2 could even be connected, considering there has been some overlap there in the past.
