It’s Monday, and we are back at it! Fresh off a weekend of football games, there was a lot of action! News will continue to come your way, and we are here for it all. Check out our original coverage and what we can find from the World Wide Web below.
Rebels handle Hawaii with ease.
This matchup had a lot of hype with two dynamic offenses meeting up, but only one team lived up to it. UNLV had its offense rolling, putting up 38 points on the night, but the defense was the real story in this game. The Rebels’ defense has been understandably criticized all season, but found a way to step up and hold Hawaii’s explosive offense to a mere 10 points on the night. UNLV gets a big win late in the season to move to 5-2 in MW play.

It wasn’t the offensive explosion of 55 points like last week, but Nevada was able to win their second game in a row. The two teams didn’t even combine for 500 yards of offense, so 13 points and a single touchdown from the Wolf Pack were enough to win the game. Instead, their defense forced six punts and kept Wyoming scoreless in the first half. Nevada has now won two straight games in two completely different ways.
Broncos bounce back against the Rams.
Boise State looked like a completely different team compared to their lifeless loss last week. They passed the ball downfield, had creative play calls in the run game, and remembered tight ends existed. Plus, their offense forced four turnovers against the struggling Rams. The Broncos got big performances out of their running backs and defensive backs, keeping their conference championship hopes alive.

In perhaps the best Mountain West game of the weekend, Utah State came back from a ten-point halftime deficit to beat Fresno State and get their sixth win, securing bowl eligibility. As usual, quarterback Bryson Barnes was disruptive, and while he didn’t find the endzone, he had over 100 yards both through the air and on the ground. The Aggie defense also pitched a second-half shutout, holding the bulldogs to 3/14 on third down and 0/3 on fourth down on the day.
