Vanderbilt has extended head football coach Clark Lea, rewarding him for guiding the program to back-to-back bowl appearances and its most competitive stretch in over a century.

Under Lea, Vanderbilt posted consecutive seven-win seasons for the first time since 2013. Only James Franklin had previously led the Commodores to back-to-back bowls.
Lea has also overseen a cultural and infrastructural renaissance. FirstBank Stadium undergone major facility upgrades and the program has pulled off several headline-making upsets.
With the contract extension finalized, Lea and Vanderbilt now turn their attention to finishing strong. A path to the expanded College Football Playoff remains possible, but every game carries postseason implications.
