Real Madrid have been long-term admirers of Ibrahima Konaté (26), however, the La Liga side have now informed Liverpool that they no longer hold an interest in the France international, according to a report from The Athletic.
Real Madrid have shown themselves keen to jump on market opportunities. The club signed Trent Alexander-Arnold for a cut-price fee, just weeks before the expiry of his contract at Liverpool last summer, and they signed Kylian Mbappé as a free agent the season before.

However, Los Blancos’ interest in Konaté has now been dropped, The Athletic understands. Liverpool have been informed. Talks over a contract extension at Anfield are ongoing amid the Frenchman’s downturn in form. There is an offer on the table, but no final decision has been taken.
