Freiburg missed a chance to go top in the Europa League when they were held to a goalless draw at Viktoria Plzen on Thursday, a result that leaves both sides unbeaten in the competition.

Czech hosts Plzen dominated and had a 39th-minute goal from Rafiu Durosinmi disallowed because team-mate Prince Kwabena Adu was in an offside position right in front of goalkeeper Noah Atubolu.

The Freiburg keeper made several big saves, Plzen midfielder Amar Memic aimed wide right on the hour and Durosinmi's effort at the far post was also thwarted by Atubolu in the 81st.

However, Freiburg had also finally showed some life up front, most notably when Johan Manzambi's drive in the 74th was tipped against the outside post in a big save by Plzen goalkeeper Florian Wiegele.

Freiburg, who would have claimed first place with victory, have 11 points from five matches, and Plzen are also in contention for the knock-outs with nine points.
