The Philadelphia Phillies definitely have some work to do this offseason after getting bounced from the NLDS for the second straight year, but in order to genuinely improve, they are going to have to make some tough decisions.
That includes making some potential trades, especially considering that their payroll may be a bit tight to add big-name free agents, especially if they re-sign Kyle Schwarber.

Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter has listed Miller among 10 prospects to watch in possible trades this offseason, noting that the 21-year-old doesn't really have a clear path to the big leagues in Philadelphia.
"Andrew Painter is the only untouchable prospect in the Phillies system, and with Alec Bohm tendered a contract for 2026 and Trea Turner signed through 2033, Miller has no place in the team's short-term plans," Reuter wrote. "Their window of contention is closing, so the front office could be in all-in mode this winter."
While that is true right now, Philadelphia has apparently been trying to trade Bohm, who has been a major disappointment since being selected with the third overall pick of the 2018 MLB Draft.

Miller slashed .264/.392/.433 with 14 home runs and 42 RBI over 526 plate appearances while also stealing 59 bases between Double-A and Triple-A this past season.
Philadelphia would surely prefer to keep the former first-round pick for the long haul, but given that its farm system is relatively light, the Phillies may have no choice but to trade Miller if they want to land a big-time talent.
Ketel Marte, for example, is a player who was recently floated as a possibility for Philadelphia. If the Phillies engage the Arizona Diamondbacks in trade discussions for Marte, you can bet that the Diamondbacks will insist upon Miller.
