The New York Knicks will be without sharpshooter Landry Shamet for some time after suffering a shoulder injury against the Orlando Magic, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

"New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet will be re-evaluated in four weeks with a right shoulder sprain, sources tell ESPN. Shamet has been one of the league's top shooters -- 42.4% from 3 -- and had emerged as a starter before sustaining the shoulder injury," Charania wrote in a post on X.

The Knicks, who have dealt with several injuries to key players early on in the 2025-26 season, will need to dig deep in their bench for a Shamet replacement, as he was already filling in for the injured OG Anunoby.

Shamet had been filling in well for Anunoby. As Charania pointed out in his post, he was averaging an incredibly efficient 42.4% from three-point range.

The eighth-year veteran even scored a career-high 36 points earlier in the season against the Miami Heat.

Shamet is in his second year with New York, but has been a great fit within new head coach Mike Brown's system.

In the absence of two of the Knicks' wings, expect Brown to start giving a handful of youngsters on the bench some run.

2024 first-round pick Pacome Dadiet and 2025 second-round pick Mohamed Diawara could see extended minutes.

In the meantime, the Knicks will prepare to take on the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night in NBA Cup play, shorthanded, but still in position to win.
