Davante Adams has a chance to break another NFL record

It's getting harder and harder to find records Davante Adams hasn't broken.

The veteran receiver is on a heater in his first season with the Los Angeles Rams, as his 12 touchdown receptions led both the team and the NFL. Other than Adams, no Rams receiver has more than four receiving touchdowns (Puka Nacua) with just six games to go.

If Adams finishes the 2025 season as the league leader in touchdown receptions, he'll become the first player in NFL history to do it for three different teams, according to ESPN. Adams also led the NFL in touchdown receptions in 2020 when he played for the Green Bay Packers (with 18) and in 2022 when he played for the Las Vegas Raiders (with 14).

This would be utterly insane if he could accomplish it. And with six games to go, it's totally doable.

The next-closest touchdown scorer is Amon-Ra St. Brown for the Detroit Lions with nine touchdown receptions. George Pickens is next with eight, followed by six others with seven each.

Given how the Rams use Adams, particularly in the end zone, it wouldn't be shocking to see him tack on a few more scores before the year is out. Even though the Rams are currently the No. 1 team in the NFC, they'll need to continue winning to maintain their status as the conference's top team and the leader of the NFC West. The Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers are still within striking distance with six weeks left in the year.

For now, though, Adams remains and touchdown machine. Which is exactly what Sean McVay envisioned when he courted and signed Adams early in the 2025 offseason.
