CAMDEN, N.J. -- The Philadelphia 76ers got back at it on Wednesday for practice before the Thanksgiving holiday and a Friday matchup with the Brooklyn Nets on the road. The Sixers are beginning to push through following a blowout loss to the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, so there is work to be done.
With that being said, the focus for the Sixers continues to be the injuries. They need to figure out who's in and who's out, and on Wednesday, they welcomed VJ Edgecombe and Paul George back into the fray. Edgecombe (left calf tightness) has missed the previous two games and George (right ankle sprain) missed the loss to the Magic.

"They were both out there," Nurse said. "I would say they looked pretty good. Again, I don't want to, like, I know it's they're out there. They did everything both all the way through. It wasn't a ton of stuff, obviously, coming off last night, but they did both make it through. Again, we got a couple days yet, so hopefully we can get at least one, hopefully both of them back."
As for Joel Embiid, he did not practice on Wednesday, but he did do an individual strength and conditioning workout on the court. As the Sixers move forward, the hope is that he will get back at on the floor sooner rather than later.
Then, there's Trendon Watford who left the loss to the Magic due to a left adductor strain. The team announced an MRI confirmed the injury and he will be re-evaluated in two weeks. That's a big blow for Philadelphia as Watford was beginning to get comfortable with his new team.

"You know that he's going to kind of be this Swiss army knife kind of guy that plays probably anywhere from 1 to 4 for us, and move him around. I think he had a good knack of getting us some timely buckets. A good knack of setting up things for other people, kind of can guard versatile positions. He can guard multiple positions. So that's kind of a lot of stuff, right?"
The Sixers will have Thanksgiving off before taking on the Nets on Friday to finish the NBA Cup portion of the schedule.
