New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel told reporters on Wednesday that the team is placing rookie offensive tackle Will Campbell on injured reserve.
This news comes after Campbell reportedly suffered a sprained MCL in the team's Week 12 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. It guarantees that the talented offensive lineman will miss at least the next four games of the season. The Patriots are slated to face the New York Giants, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets in that stretch.

The good news is that it wasn't a season-ending injury for Campbell, who has been a massive upgrade for the team at the left tackle position. But playing without him for any extended period of time is a major loss for the team.
The next man up in this scenario is Patriots' veteran offensive lineman Vederian Lowe, who got reps at left tackle when Campbell went down against the Bengals.
