Did Anthony Davis get traded to the Clippers? Mavericks fans duped by viral fake tweet

This could be a weird bit of foreshadowing, though.

The Dallas Mavericks haven't gotten what they envisioned out of Anthony Davis since acquiring him in the shocking Luka Doncic deal.

That has led to speculation already that Davis may end up being traded away from Dallas sooner rather than later.

For that to happen, Davis would first have to prove to the rest of the NBA that he's healthy. Even then, he comes with major injury concerns.

Some already believe Davis has been traded, though. Don't believe everything you see online.

Did Anthony Davis get traded to the Clippers?

No, AD hasn't been traded to the Clippers, or anywhere else, at least not as of the morning of Nov. 26.

The rumor comes from a post from the parody account NBA Centel:

The weird part about this is that NBA Centel has had an oddly good success rate for posting news ahead of time that eventually comes true.

Davis would certainly fit into an aging and injury-prone Clippers team. But it's not obvious what the Clippers would have that the Mavs would want in return if Dallas is indeed turning its timeline to match 18-year old phenom Cooper Flagg.

A Davis trade could be coming. But it hasn't happened yet.
