By Andrew RavensShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberRhea Ripley, the former Women's World Champion, is preparing for a high-stakes WarGames match at WWE 'Survivor Series' this weekend. A major question surrounding her preparation has been the status of a broken nose she suffered during a WWE tour in Japan last month. The injury forced Ripley to begin wearing a protective mask. Speaking on "Raw Recap," Ripley gave an update on her injury and confirmed her intentions to wear the mask during the intense WarGames bout.
Ripley confirmed that the mask would be a necessity for the match, providing a definitive answer to the speculation surrounding her appearance at the Premium Live Event. The injury, while healing, is not completely resolved, necessitating the protective measure.
"I will have to wear it during this WarGames match, and I will probably have it on the entire time unless someone takes it off forcefully," Ripley confirmed.
Ripley's team for the WarGames match is stacked, featuring AJ Lee, Iyo Sky, Alexa Bliss, and Charlotte Flair. They will face a formidable team led by Becky Lynch, which also includes Nia Jax, Asuka, Kairi Sane (The Kabuki Warriors), and Lash Legend. Ripley acknowledged the threat posed by their opponents on "Raw Recap," calling the opposing team "forces to be reckoned with".

The former champion detailed the progression of her healing, noting that her nose is not yet fully recovered. She assured WWE fans that the mask would be part of her presentation, hinting at a custom design.
..."My nose is somewhat healed, but it’s still not fully healed, so I will be wearing it," Ripley stated.
This weekend marks the second time that Rhea Ripley has been forced to don a face mask for a 'Survivor Series' event, as an orbital bone injury last year also required her to wear one. This second occasion will feature a new custom design. Ripley also indicated that she is looking forward to showcasing the new look.
"But I will also be doing it up, just like I did last year, so I can’t wait to show everyone exactly what my mask looks like," Ripley said.
The custom mask was created by Jason Baker, known for his horror-esque creations and for designing The Fiend's iconic mask. In fact, when Ripley spoke about her custom mask, Sam Roberts, a co-host on "Raw Recap," jokingly suggested the custom look would be great for the production of new Rhea Ripley action figures based on her 'Survivor Series: WarGames' appearance. While the full lineup of veterans is known for their championship reigns and main-event experience, the opposing team also features a rising star, Lash Legend, who will be competing in her first WarGames match and only her second WWE Premium Live Event.
