Game recognizes game – quite literally, in this instance. Palworld, the popular Pokemon-like where you can give the monsters guns, has finally managed to pull itself into a stronger all-round reception on Steam, leading to a respectful nod from another developer who understands playing the long game.

As of now, Palworld's Steam reviews are sitting at Overwhelmingly Positive for both recent and overall categories. The survival collect-'em-all was previously lower due to various issues, but consistent refinement from developer Pocketpair has managed to redeem it.

This has caught the attention of someone who's particularly familiar with such a struggle: Sean Murray, of No Man's Sky developer Hello Games. Released in 2016 to a mixed reception, to put it mildly, No Man's Sky gradually became one of the better space sims available, with a dedicated community and routine updates.

Murray shares Palworld's achievement with a heart, prompting an adorable response from Buckley. "Sean you are going to make me cry," he tweets. Aww!

Takuro Mizobe, producer on Palworld, took some time to celebrate as well, thanking fans and saying that the team will continue to work hard as the survival game approaches its 1.0 release.

Palworld lead gently reminds players the next update is not "massive," since "mammoth sized 1.0" is still a long way off: "I think you've misunderstood."
