Gemini is all set to replace Google Assistant next year, so it's safe to assume that Google will keep releasing new features to make it better and make it a true AI companion for users. In addition to phone-specific features, Gemini will keep getting new features that will help everyone, regardless of the form factor.
One of the ways it can get better for everyone is by providing better answers, and Gemini is now getting better at it significantly. Gemini has started rolling out a new way of explaining topics that will be super helpful to students or anyone who wants to learn through images.

Interactive images are those that you can interact with to reveal more information, and now they also work on Google Gemini. In other words, you'll see interactive images in the Gemini answers and learn more quickly through them.
The feature was first spotted by @testingcatalog on X, and based on the demo of the feature they shared, an interactive image on Gemini answers will carry an "Explore" label in the bottom right corner of it. You can click on the image to open it in a dedicated space, which is on the right side of your screen. This allows users to click different text labels to learn more about them, instead of searching for each of them manually.
For example, the demo shows how the user can click the "Mitochondrion" text labeling in an interactive image of a plant cell to learn more about the "powerhouse of the cell." Similarly, you can study deeply about each and every cell organelle using a click. However, you may not get interactive images in all of Gemini's responses.
You can close the window after learning about those topics and go back to asking further questions if you have any. This is surely a potent study tool for students, but it can help just about anyone wanting to learn something new.
The support for interactive images on Gemini appears to be rolling out slowly, so don't be surprised if you don't see them. You can refresh Gemini and try again, but if it doesn't work, you may have to wait a few more days before it becomes available on your account. Whenever it becomes available for everyone, interactive images can surely help you incorporate Gemini into your daily life, especially if you're a learner.
