The Dallas Mavericks obviously made the wrong decision when they decided to move on from Luka Doncic in a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, but the Lakers can’t feel too bad about it.

Fast forward to November of 2025, and many believe the Mavericks could move on from the former Lakers center.
According to an anonymous executive speaking with Steve Bulpett of Heavy.com, it’s possible that Dallas will look to figure some things out with its current core before making a move, but if Klutch Sports gets involved, Davis seems to be an obvious trade candidate.
“If Klutch gets involved in Dallas and tries to get AD out, then some stuff could happen,” said one league executive. “But (the Mavericks) are still working it out with that group to see what direction they want to go in, and they’re so injured it’s hard to tell.

While Davis is clearly one of the better centers in the NBA when he’s on the court, his inability to stay on the court is what likely changes how many teams feel about him.
