ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- After the Maryland game, Michigan football team captain and fullback Max Bredeson was in a walking boot and on crutches, and head coach Sherrone Moore said that the X-ray didn't look good. He repeated those sentiments on Monday, but said on the Inside Michigan Football radio show that if anyone could play with this type of injury, it would be Bredeson.

On Tuesday, Bredeson met with the media in advance of the Ohio State game and essentially declared that it's going to take more than his current foot injury to keep him out. This is, assuming everything goes to plan.

"We're not going to say exactly what it is now at the time, but I'm feeling good. I'm feeling better each day, and we're ready to go," Bredeson said. "We're going to do everything in our power to be ready to play on Saturday, and I'm feeling good about it. I feel really good about it."

Given the opponent, and the fact that this is Bredeson's final opportunity to play at The Big House, his final game against the Buckeyes, he's doing everything in his power to ensure that he sees the field on Saturday. Because playing against Ohio State means so much to him.

"Whatever it takes. It's The Game. It's the perfect game," Bredeson said. "That's why I came to Michigan. Everything about it is perfect. I'm trying to explain it, but you just can't. So, whatever it takes, we've got to find a way."

As far as his involvement in practice on Tuesday, Bredeson hasn't been out there just yet. But he also doesn't feel like he needs to take mental reps, because he knows his assignments, he knows his duties. Even so, he's doing what he needs to do to ensure that, if he can, he can be out on the field on Saturday.

"I didn't practice today. I'm weight-bearing on (the foot), but there's precautions we've got to take just to do the right thing to be able to play on Saturday.

"Been playing this offense for five years. But yeah, doing the right steps just to handle it the right way. We've got a good plan about it, and we're going to take it the right way."

Having sustained his injury on his catch against Maryland (he notes he played another snap after that), it doesn't discourage Bredeson. As he says, it was worth it to be able to help the team any way he could.

"Every time. Anytime, putting on the winged helmet, do it. Break all of them."
