Michael Fassbender’s easy-to-binge espionage series is blowing up on streaming charts before the arrival of its second season. Last year, Fassbender starred opposite Jeffrey Wright and Richard Gere in The Agency, which is now titled The Agency: Central Intelligence. The Agency is set mostly in London in a world full of intrigue and subterfuge, following characters who are fighting their own battles while also fighting for the safety of their country. The Agency is currently streaming on Paramount+ with the Showtime extension, and the show is back in the top 10 in several countries around the world, including Italy.

Paramount and Showtime renewed The Agency for Season 2 before the conclusion of the first, despite controversial reviews. The series currently sits at scores of 67% from critics and 76% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, but there’s still plenty of story left to tell in this espionage-infused world. Production on The Agency Season 2 began earlier this year, and there has been no confirmation that it’s wrapped yet. However, considering it began around April, it’s expected to conclude any day now. Showtime hasn’t announced a potential release date yet, but it will likely be sometime in the second half of 2026.

The Agency star Michael Fassbender is best known for his roles in major sci-fi hits such as Prometheus and X-Men: First Class, but he’s also a two-time Oscar nominee for his performances in 12 Years a Slave and Steve Jobs. He most recently teamed up with Pierce Brosnan and Cate Blanchett for Black Bag, the critically acclaimed spy thriller that’s now streaming on Prime Video. He also has a slew of other projects in the works to be excited about.

When Does Michael Fassbender’s Next Movie Come Out?

Michael Fassbender has been tapped to star alongside Alicia Vikander and Taylor Russell in Hope, a new sci-fi thriller that’s currently in post-production and expected to be released next year. He’s also attached to headline Night Boat to Tangier, a new drama/thriller with Ruth Negga and Domhnall Gleeson. The film is expected to begin production any day now, and it follows two colorful Irish criminals who flee to Spain to meet with old associates. James Marsh is directing the film with a script from Kevin Barry, and Fassbender is also producing.
