CAMDEN, N.J. -- Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey is off to an unbelievable start to the 2025-26 season. The 6-year guard out of Kentucky is second in the NBA in scoring at 33.0 points per game along with 7.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds while shooting 47.1% from the floor and 41.5% from deep.
This is also with Joel Embiid and Paul George sidelined as he once again faces defensive pressure from everywhere on the floor. Maxey has thrown the Sixers on his back and been a leader on and off the floor to make sure Philadelphia remains competitive in terms of wins and losses.

"I just want us to win," Maxey said of MVP conversations. "If we win and that comes with it, then I'm happy, but I don't really care. When I play well and we lose, it doesn't make me happy at all, but when I play bad, and we win, I'm extremely happy, because at the end of the day, the wins mean more to me if that makes sense."
The Sixers went 24-58 in the 2024-25 season as they were ravaged by injury issues. Maxey is working to make sure the Sixers don't go through that again in an effort to get back into the playoffs and on the path of title contention.
"They mean a lot more," Maxey added. "The record, our record, is nine, and whatever we are right now, we have nine wins (9-7 at the moment). I think that means the most to me. It's keep stacking days, keep winning, keep getting better every single day, and keep leading this team."
