Moehrig was banned for unsportsmanlike conduct in the fourth quarter of Carolina's 20-9 loss at San Francisco on Monday for striking Jennings at the end of a play.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementJennings responded after the end of the game by striking Moehrig's face mask with his right hand and was restrained by teammates.
"I was just responding to some childish behavoir," Jennings said. "That's all it was."
Moehrig, who could appeal the suspension, is set to miss Carolina's home game Sunday against the NFC-leading Los Angeles Rams (9-2).
The Panthers (6-6) will be able to reactivate Moehrig on December 1.
The NFL will review the actions of Jennings but he is expected to receive only a possible fine.
