The Vikings' defensive line has some issues despite the major investments they have made, so perhaps the NFL Draft will fix it?

The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh next April, a city where the Bucs found success this preseason with a last-second field goal to defeat the Steelers. Before next April, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft.

The Draft Network's Jaime Eisner recently released the latest 2026 NFL mock draft of the cycle. Within it, the Vikings were attached to star defender Peter Woods, who has not played to his potential this year, but remains a monster on the Clemson defense.

Eisner explains the pick, writing, "The Vikings need to add some youth to their defensive line, and it starts here with Clemson’s Peter Woods. Woods excels as a run-stuffer and has the potential to develop into a major disruptor in the passing game. He’s the top IDL in the 2026 class."

Adding Peter Woods to a line that already boasts a rotation of Jonathan Greenard, Dallas Turner, Jonathan Allen, and maybe even Javon Hargrave would make them a monstrous front. He came into the year as a potential top-five pick, so his falling to the Vikings would be a homerun situation.
