Clemson has been without defensive tackle Stephiylan Green for the past two games, as he continues to recover from an undisclosed issue. He didn’t suit up against Louisville on Nov. 14, and although he was listed as available for the Furman matchup last Saturday, he never took a snap.
On his weekly radio show Monday night, Dabo Swinney touched on where things stand with Green and said the staff is hoping he’ll be ready for the upcoming rivalry game.

The Tigers, sitting at 6-5, will travel to Williams-Brice Stadium for a noon kickoff against South Carolina, which enters the week at 4-7. The game will air on SEC Network.
Green has been part of Clemson’s rotation in nine contests this fall and has started six of them. So far, he’s been credited with 14 tackles, including two behind the line, along with two sacks and a quarterback hurry.
His earliest action came in 2023, when he redshirted and appeared in two games. He followed that with a strong 2024 season, earning second-team freshman All-American honors from The Athletic after posting 17 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack, and a pass breakup across 12 games.
