By Hollie Silverman and Dan GoodingShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberA group of Democratic lawmakers who made a video encouraging service members to go against orders that seemed illegal will be interviewed by the Capitol Police at the direction of the FBI and the Department of Justice, according to a report from Fox News.
The group includes Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich.; Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz.; Rep. Chris Deluzio, D-Pa.; Rep. Maggie Goodlander, D-N.H.; Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, D-Pa.; and Rep. Jason Crow.
They released a video last week saying in part, "Our laws are clear. You can refuse illegal orders."
President Donald Trump responded to the video by calling for their arrests and labeling their conduct "seditious."
"THE TRAITORS THAT TOLD THE MILITARY TO DISOBEY MY ORDERS SHOULD BE IN JAIL RIGHT NOW, NOT ROAMING THE FAKE NEWS NETWORKS TRYING TO EXPLAIN THAT WHAT THEY SAID WAS OK," Trump said in a post on Truth Social Saturday.
Newsweek reached out to the FBI by email Tuesday for comment.
