One of the biggest offseason decisions the Pittsburgh Steelers need to make — whether or not to pick up the fifth-year option of Broderick Jones — just received a huge update.

On Friday, the NFL released the fifth-year option price tags for a variety of positional categories, ranging from players selected to two or more Pro Bowls to players who do not achieve any criterion.

Jones fell into the second-to-last category, players who achieve playtime criterion and made zero Pro Bowls, resulting in an offensive linemen fifth-year option price tag of $19,072,000. The Steelers have until May 1 to decide if they want to pick up Jones' option.

Selected by the Steelers with the 14th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Jones hasn't quite lived up to his first round status, struggling at both right and left tackle through his first three seasons.

Earlier in the week at the NFL Scouting Combine, Steelers general manager Omar Khan hinted that Jones' neck injury — one that shut down his 2025 season — could impact the likelihood of picking up his fifth-year option. But it's hard to imagine Pittsburgh doing so after Dylan Cook emerged as a potential starting left tackle option last season.
