Nebraska won its third dual in a row in its Big Ten finale Sunday morning with a dominant 34-5 win over Indiana on the road.
With the win, Nebraska improves to 12-6 in duals this year and 5-3 in the Big Ten — its only losses came against #1 Penn State, #2 Ohio State (twice), #3 Oklahoma State (twice) and #6 Iowa.

As has been the story all year, Nebraska struggled at the lightest of weights. Redshirt freshman #33 Kael Lauridsen fell via pinfall against Illinois’ #13 Spencer Moore on Friday night before dropping his match to Indiana’s #14 Jacob Moran via technical fall on Sunday.
Moran racked up three first-period takedowns on low shots before adding two more in the second period to go up 15-4 over Lauridsen. Moran used one more takedown and a stall call in the third to beat Lauridsen 19-4.

After missing Friday’s tilt against top-ranked Lucas Byrd due to illness, Nebraska’s #9 Jacob Van Dee returned to the mat Sunday to face Indiana’s Gavin Jendreas.
Van Dee hit a pair of double-leg takedowns in the first period before adding four near-fall points to go up 10-1 at the end of the period. In the second, Van Dee scored an escape before gathering another takedown with his signature Jonesy tilt, putting Jendreas on his back for four near-fall points to secure the 18-1 win via tech fall.
With the win, Van Dee is now 14-4 on the year and 11-3 in duals.

Nebraska’s #3 Brock Hardy picked up his third straight tech fall in this one against Indiana’s #31 Henry Porter.
Hardy scored two takedowns in each period on the way to the 20-4 win via tech fall — his sixth of the season. Hardy leads the team with 13 bonus-point wins with four pins and three major decisions as well.
Hardy is now 17-4 on the season.

Facing an opponent who’s tough to score on, Nebraska’s #14 Chance Lamer did what he had to do for the win against Indiana’s Joey Buttler.
Lamer earned a first-period takedown before riding the period out for 2 minutes in riding time. Lamer then added an escape point in the second. Buttler chose neutral in the third and was able to score a last-second takedown on Lamer, but it wasn’t enough to knock off the Husker.

Nebraska’s #2 Antrell Taylor — the reigning NCAA Champion — is looking scary good right now. Taylor has now won 13 matches in a row with multiple wins over highly ranked opponents.
On Sunday, Taylor put on an offensive clinic with five first-period takedowns and seven takedowns in all. Taylor added two more in the second period to earn the 21-5 win via tech fall.
Taylor has the best record on the team at 19-2 and will likely be ranked #1 next week.

Facing another ranked opponent, Nebraska’s #7 LJ Araujo took on Indiana’s #18 Tyler Lillard.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementAfter an action-packed yet scoreless first period, Araujo scored first in the second with an escape before locking up a cradle and earning three near-fall points for the 7-0 lead going into the third.
In the final period, Lillard launched a furious comeback bid that started with a reversal and two takedowns that cut the Araujo lead to 9-8. After getting cut for an escape late, Araujo was able to get in on a low shot that he used to get to the end of the match for the 10-8 decision win.
With the win, Araujo is now 13-6 on the year.

Nebraska’s #4 Christopher Minto took on #31 Derek Gilcher of Indiana here.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIn a first-period exchange where Minto looked all but taken down, he was able to scramble out of it before coming around for the opening takedown. Minto added another takedown late in the first period to go up 6-1.
Gilcher started the second with an escape, and Minto got an escape of his own in the third. Minto did give up a point for stalling late in the third, but he came away with the 7-3 decision win.
With the win, Minto is now 17-4 on the year.

Nebraska’s #6 Silas Allred faced #14 Sam Goin here in one of the better matchups of the dual.
Allred hit a low shot on Goin in the first period before riding the period out. Allred then added an escape and another late takedown for a 7-0 lead. In the final period, Allred got his third takedown but gave up a pair of escapes for the 11-2 win by major decision.
With the win, Allred is now 15-6 on the year.

Nebraska’s #10 Camden McDanel continues his hot streak having now won eight of his last nine matches — his only loss came to #1 Josh Barr of Penn State in that span. On Sunday, McDanel took on #22 Gabe Sollars of Indiana
After a scoreless first period where McDanel was in deep twice and nearly scored, McDanel struck first in the second period with a quick reversal from the bottom position. Sollars then got an escape and another to start the third period, tying the match at 2-2.
Late in the third period, McDanel shot low and got in deep for the takedown with just 13 seconds remaining. McDanel gave up a late escape, but he won the match 5-3.
With the win, McDanel is now 17-5 on the year.

In the final bout, Nebraska’s #4 AJ Ferrari faced Indiana’s Matt Kowalski.
Ferrari scored a first-period takedown before adding points on an escape and a stalling call in the second. In the third, Ferrari earned another takedowns before surrendering a late escape. With the riding-time point, Ferrari won the match 9-3.
Ferrari moves to 12-2 on the year with the win.
