Fairfield's Mac Forehand advanced to the Freestyle Skiing Men's Freeski Big Air final with the highest score of the competition on Sunday.
Forehand will be the last competitor in Tuesday's final (1:30 p.m.) at the Milan Olympics. He combined for 183 points on his two jumps (93.25 on his first attempt, 89.75 on his second). Having complete two strong jumps, Forehand opted to do straight jump with no tricks on his final attempt. The top two scores are used in determining overall scores. The top 12 advanced to the final.

Two-time Olympian Birk Ruud from Norway, who won the event at the 2022 Winter Games, finished big air qualifying in third place with 181 points. Ruud won gold in slopestyle Tuesday. Forehand placed 11th in slopestyle.
