Legendary has always been clever about marketing the Monsterverse, from first revealing the Titan Shimo in a cave painting located inside Call Of Duty: Warzone to hosting a Monarch website complete with Titan files and a Godzilla tracker when promoting Godzilla: King of the Monsters. They've just pulled off another fun stunt for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2, once again providing a website for curious Monsterverse fans.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is due to return on Apple TV+ on February 27th, 2026, and will pick up the time-bending story that began in season 1 and is set between the events of 2014's Godzilla and 2019's Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The season 2 trailer teases that Godzilla and Kong may team up to take down a massive new threat known only as Titan X, a massive aquatic Titan armed with tentacles, teeth, and a menacing red glow.

While the trailers we have seen so far have left most of Titan X's history and abilities a mystery, it's very clear that it's unlike anything that we've seen in the Monsterverse thus far. The incredible size and nightmarish features paint it as a creature that will require the efforts of both Kong and pre-evolved Godzilla to put down, and a brand-new secret clip proves just how high the stakes really are.

You Can Access A One-Minute Titan X Clip Via A Secret Website

The folks at Legendary quietly revealed the promotional website monarchdeeprift.com, which leads you to a bare-bones site that contains an audio file that you can download or listen to right on the site. Anonymous Titan roars can be heard in the 24-second clip, along with what appears to be high-pitched static and other white noise. Below the audio is a button that allows you to "Request Authorization", which leads you to a simple password login.

The clue the website gives is that "What you hear is only the surface. The truth is buried in the shape of the sound." After I tried unsuccessfully to crack the audio file's code, I headed over to Reddit where much smarter individuals than me had already figured out that if you run the audio through a spectrogram, you get a visual representation of the sound, which reveals Morse code.

Reddit user u/2cuc/ was the first to crack the code, revealing that the password to unlock the next step is 019732433. Those who enter the password are rewarded with a minute-long clip of Wyatt Russell's younger Lee Shaw and Mari Yamamoto's Keiko Randa (née Miura) fleeing through a village with a swarm of what appear to be larval-state versions of Titan X.

Halfway through the clip, the full-sized Titan X rears up out of the ocean and delivers devastating roars and swipes at Keiko and Lee with a massive tentacle. It's the clearest view we've gotten yet of the mysterious Titan X, and it showcases both his size and ferocity.

The New Clip Makes It Clear How Significant A Threat Titan X Really Is

While Titan X pretty clearly falls in the "destroyer class" grouping of Titans that Monarch tracks, his massive size and bad intentions are only the tip of the iceberg, judging by the secret clip. Keiko and Lee are shown fleeing from a literal swarm of what appear to be tentacled mollusks, complete with a spiky shell, clearly an early stage in the development of the fully-grown Titan X. They're almost insect-like in how they skitter across the ground, but ultimately they make their way to the sea towards Titan X.

The new revelation that Titan X can apparently reproduce on a massive scale ratchets up the danger for the world, similarly to how the MUTOs threatened the globe in Godzilla. With both the MUTOs and Titan X, the true danger is in the volume of the creatures. The male and female MUTOs posed a significant threat to Godzilla, but if they were allowed to reproduce, the world would be quickly overrun.

We didn't actually get to see a swarm of MUTOs in Godzilla, as Ford Brody fried the nest before any of them could hatch and infest Godzilla or other Titans. It will be exciting to see how Godzilla and Kong contend with an actual swarm of potentially gargantuan monsters, and it provides a very good reason for them to call a tepid truce in season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.
