Valter Walker couldn’t get a heel hook, so he took Zion Clark’s neck instead.

On Friday night, the streaking UFC heavyweight grappled Clark, who was born without legs, in the main event of Karate Combat 59 in Miami. It was the sort of matchup where fans are unsure what will happen, and that translated early as Clark — whose one MMA fight came at bantamweight — struggled with the sheer size difference between him and Walker, while Walker seemed to be figuring out how hard to try.

Clark managed to sneak his way to Walker’s back early on, but was unable to lock in a submission. Ultimately, Walker decided to press the issue and easily got to Clark’s back, where he locked in a rear-naked choke to get the finish.

After the bout, Clark noted the size difference and promised to do better when facing someone his own weight, while also telling Walker he’ll get better and come back for a rematch. Walker, meanwhile, declared that he was disappointed that his brother, Johnny Walker, did not show up to support him and called for a match with him at the next Karate Combat event on March 28 in Russia.

Earlier in the evening, former UFC fighter Uriah Hall moved to 2-0 in the Karate Combat pit, stopping Jayden Eynaud with a spinning back kick to the body in the first round. Hall marched Eynaud down right away, and after a brief break following an eye poke from Eynaud, Hall was able to land a nasty spinning back kick to the liver, forcing Eynaud into immediate survival mode. That didn’t last long, though, with Hall pouring on punches to get a stoppage at the end of the first round.

After the bout, Karate Combat champion Sam Alvey entered the pit and faced off with Hall, setting up a title fight between the two in the future.
