Indiana man removes son from school after offseason injury, threats

A Valparaiso, Indiana father says he is withdrawing his 15‑year‑old son from Valparaiso High School after the teen suffered a concussion and broken wrist during an off‑season football practice and later received violent threats from classmates.

Jason Solomon told CBS Chicago that his son, Malakai, was injured during what was supposed to be a light‑contact drill, leaving him without a helmet when full contact occurred.

Solomon said the boy continues to experience concussion symptoms and has since been threatened with being “jumped” if he returns. School administrators told him they are taking the threats seriously.
