LOS ANGELES -- The Philadelphia 76ers had to do something before Thursday's matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers. After clearing roster spots at the trade deadline, the Sixers needed to either fill their roster back up to 15 or convert him to a standard deal for Dominick Barlow to be available for the matchup.
The Sixers did what many expected on Thursday as they officially converted Barlow from a two-way to a standard deal. The 4-year big man from Overtime Elite has been terrific for Philadelphia averaging 8.4 points and 5.1 rebounds while starting 33 of the 40 games he has played thus far. He has been a complete steal for the Sixers on a two-way and absolutely earned his standard deal.
With Barlow now on a standard deal, the big man will now be available for the matchup with the Lakers and look to help the Sixers get the job done and win their sixth straight game.
