The Los Angeles Chargers are hoping to get running back Omarion Hampton back for the Week 13 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHampton took over lead-back duties in the wake of fellow running back Najee Harris' season-ending injury, but that didn't last long after the rookie suffered an ankle injury that landed him on injured reserve in Week 6.
Hampton has been eligible to return from injured reserve for weeks now but remains on the list entering Week 13.
Will this be the week Hampton returns? Here's what we know.
Will Omarion Hampton return in Week 13?
There is no definitive answer to this question yet, so we'll have to make an educated guess.
The last update from the team came from head coach Jim Harbaugh, who said that the earliest Hampton would be designated to return from injured reserve would be after the Week 12 bye.

Two good signs for Hampton are the fact that he was getting some work in on the side at practice prior to the bye and has shed his walking boot.
We would say that gives Hampton a better than 50/50 shot to return in Week 13.
If the Chargers do open his practice window this week, that will likely come on Wednesday, so we should know more then.
Once the Chargers designate Hampton to return from injured reserve, they'll have 21 days to activate him to the 53-man roster. There's no guarantee that happens in the same week, but it's definitely possible.
