With the eleventh matchday of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season in the books, Bulinews Editor-in-Chief Rune Gjerulff has selected his Team of the Week, which lines up in a 3-5-2 formation:

Goalkeeper:

Mio Backhaus, Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen lost 2-0 to RB Leipzig, but it could have been much worse for the Green-Whites had it not been for Mio Backhaus, who made a number of impressive stops during the game.

Defenders:

Danny da Costa, Mainz

Gave his team a much-needed boost after coming on at half-time, scoring Mainz’s equaliser and winning four duels.

Kevin Diks, Borussia Mönchengladbach

Stepped up to convert a penalty for Gladbach for the second consecutive week. Extremely reliable in possession, completing 94% of his passes, and won the majority of his duels.

Dayot Upamecano, FC Bayern

Rock-solid in defence, winning five out of six duels and completing 95% of his passes. Also contributed offensively, finding the net for Bayern.

Midfielders:

Jonas Hofmann, Bayer Leverkusen

Impressed as a right wing-back, scoring and playing a strong, reliable role in Leverkusen’s passing game.

Assan Ouedraogo, RB Leipzig

After scoring his first goal for Germany last Monday, Ouedraogo capped off a sensational week with an impressive performance and stunning long-range strike against Werder Bremen.

Michael Olise, FC Bayern

A standout in this week’s Team of the Week, Olise scored twice and provided three assists, delivering a flawless 10/10 performance for Bayern.

Lennart Karl, FC Bayern

The 17-year-old also played a key role for Bayern, scoring a goal and providing an assist in an impressive display.

Maximilian Beier, Borussia Dortmund
