One of Apple TV's best science fiction shows has taken a major blow on streaming, which proves that it needs to return soon.
Apple TV is the home of some of the best science fiction shows on streaming right now. Even on the streaming service, though, some shows have easily outperformed the rest in terms of critical and commercial success. For instance, Vince Gilligan's Pluribus boasts an almost perfect Rotten Tomatoes score of 99%, making it Apple TV's most acclaimed series.
Another sci-fi masterpiece on Apple TV has an impressive 90% Rotten Tomatoes score and has also had a solid commercial run for two seasons. Despite achieving these feats, however, the show has recently taken on a major streaming hit.
Silo Has Slipped Out Of Apple TV’s Top 10 Shows

Silo dominated Apple TV's streaming charts for quite some time and remained in the service's Top 10 shows long after its second season ended its run. A little over ten months after its last season, though, Silo has fallen out of Apple TV's Top 10 list, which indicates a significant decline in its viewership and a potential fall in viewers' interest surrounding its future.
Severance season 2 premiered right after Silo's second installment ended its run on Apple TV. Yet, it still stands strong at #6 on the streamer's Top 10 list. Even a sci-fi show like Invasion, which is nowhere close to matching Silo's acclaim, is also at #7 in the list. While Invasion clearly benefits from the recent release of its season 3, Silo's drop in viewership points to a concerning trend.
Silo Season 3 Urgently Needs A Release Window To Keep Viewers Invested
Earlier this year, Apple TV had confirmed that Silo season 3 had officially wrapped filming. Check out their Tweet below:
Since the Twitter post, however, no new updates surrounding Silo season 3's production or release have been made. Given how it has been over five months since season 3 wrapped filming, the season should be reaching the end of its post-production. However, without a concrete release window, the interest surrounding its release is seemingly dipping.
Reports also suggest that Silo's seasons 3 and 4 are being filmed back-to-back. This could be the reason why the show's production is still on while its release window is yet to be confirmed. To stay relevant in the fast-moving streaming space, though, Silo will at least need a confirmed release window for its return.
The mere announcement of its release date could prompt many viewers to revisit its previous seasons, which could boost its viewership and help it rank among Apple TV's top shows again.
When Will Season 3 Likely Come Out?

Silo season 4's filming should also be nearing its end, given how its principal photography began right after season 3. Since most shows remain in post-production for at least five to six months before release, Silo season 3 could eye a summer 2026 premiere.
The fourth and final installment of Silo could then land on Apple TV towards the end of 2026. If the show follows this release timeline, it could significantly recover from its recent streaming blow and retain its place as Apple TV's most successful sci-fi series.
