MADISON – Not much went as planned for the Wisconsin football team this season. The addition of Lance Mason was one of the moves that paid off.
In need of a pass catching threat at tight end, the Badgers added the graduate transfer from Missouri State after spring practice.

Mason’s work earned him second-team all-Big Ten standing from the coaches on the league’s all-conference team. He was a third-team selection by the media.
The last Badgers tight end to lead the team in receiving yards was Jake Ferguson in 2020. Mason is the first UW player to receive all-Big Ten distinction at that position since Ferguson in 2020 and ’21.
The offensive selections were announced Dec. 3. The defense and special teams were announced Dec. 4.
Mason's second-team distinction is the highest for a Badgers player on offense, defense or special team.
