Virginia Tech head coach James Franklin was a busy man the last two weeks. While the Hokies still had two games remaining when he was hired, Franklin was busy putting together a recruiting class without a coaching staff in place.
What Franklin did in two weeks was unprecedented. On the first day of the early signing period, Franklin landed four more recruits — and tried to land more high-profile players — and finished things off flipping 3-star cornerback Amauri Polydor from Penn State.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Polydor is from Baltimore, where he played at the famed St. Frances Academy. He committed to Franklin and Penn State back on June 6 and remained committed there until Wednesday. However, once Franklin left, Polydor was looking around, with Colorado in hot pursuit. Playing for the legendary Deion Sanders clearly intrigued Polydor, but Virginia Tech being closer to home and having Franklin helped the Hokies win out.
Here is Polydor’s Hudl profile:

Polydor and Cleveland give the Hokies two lengthy corners. Polydor is 6-foot-1, while Cleveland is 6-foot-4. The Hokies have some young cornerbacks on the roster, but could target one or two in the transfer portal. Regardless, Polydor and Cleveland are an excellent young duo to build around over the next few years.
