The Pittsburgh Steelers gave up on cornerback Darius Slay on Tuesday when they waived the 34-year-old. The Steelers signed Slay to a one-year, $10-million contract in the offseason after he was selected to the Pro Bowl six times in his 12-year career.
Pro Football Focus ranks Slay as the 71st-best corner in NFL among the 119 players who have played enough snaps to qualify at the position. Nevertheless, the Buffalo Bills claimed Slay off waivers on Wednesday. Should the Steelers, who are 28th in the league in pass defense, held onto Slay or was time for him to go?
