Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek four-star running back Amari Latimer has flipped his commitment from Wisconsin to West Virginia and is set to sign with the Mountaineers.
The decision ends a recruitment that had been trending away from the Badgers this fall. Committed to Wisconsin — where his brother plays — since June 28, Latimer has been pursued my a slew of programs across the last couple of months.

Both WVU and Georgia Tech emerged as the biggest threats toward the end, while Wisconsin also fought tooth and nail to keep him in the fold in Madison.
In the end, it’s the Mountaineers, who are having a terrific National Signing Day and have now added another blue-chipper to the fold in Morgantown. Earlier on Wednesday, WVU flipped four-star safety Matt Sieg away from Penn State.
Latimer is the No. 257 overall prospect and No. 19 RB in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 32 recruit in Georgia.
Rivals ranks him higher than other recruiting services. In last month’s Rivals300 update, he checked in as the No. 205 recruit, No. 12 RB and No. 26 player in the Peach State.

He now gives the Mountaineers a third four-star pledge, flanking Sieg and interior offensive lineman Kevin Brown, a top-100 recruit and former PSU commit.
WVU now has the biggest class in the nation at 43 commits, nearly all of whom have already signed.
