This week, the Pittsburgh Steelers and cornerback Darius Slay mutually agreed to part ways and the Steelers waived the veteran. Slay didn't make it past waivers as it is being reported that the Buffalo Bills have claimed Slay. Slay was hoping to get an opportunity to play more this season.
Slay was a healthy scratch last week against the Bills after working his way through an injury-riddled first season with the Steelers. Slay was one of the big signings of the offseason for Pittsburgh but his play never lived up to the one-year, $10 million contract.

Slay was being replaced in the lineup, losing snaps to Brandin Echols and James Pierre more and more each week as he struggled to keep up. Now Slay will get a fresh start with five regular-season games left in Buffalo.
