The cavalry has arrived! The Seattle Seahawks have designated Julian Love (FS), Jarran Reed (DT) and Dareke Young (WR/KR) to return to practice, signaling a 21-day window for each to be added to the active roster.

In a season where the starting defense has played a grand total of four snaps together, this feels like the stop unit getting right when it matters down the stretch. This is in the wake of shutting out the Minnesota Vikings while racking up 4 TFL’s, 4 sacks, 4 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles.

Love should slot into the starting lineup across from Coby Bryant when he is ready. Although Ty Okada has more than held his own in relief (74.3 PFF grade), returning a Pro Bowl safety will add experience, versatility, communication and ball-hawking skills to the back end.

Reed finished last season second on the team in pressures and drew double teams on the interior at times. He was top 10 in ESPN’s Pass Rush Win Rate at the end of September and will add dawg mentality, experience and rotational value alongside Byron Murphy II and Leonard Williams.

Young has been a special teams standout in the 2025 season, recording 5 total tackles on coverage units, as well as putting up 322 kick return yards (32.2 yards per return, which would rank second in the NFL if he had the qualified snaps). He’s also come in as a trusted blocker on the perimeter at times, while adding 48 receiving yards.

We’ll see whom of this trio gets added to the active roster and when in the midst of the Seahawks being tied for the best record in the NFC.
