Trade rumors spread like wildfire when the "Greek Freak" got rid of almost all Bucks-related content from his social media.

But the rumor mill was hot during the summer, too, when several reports indicated the Bucks and New York Knicksdiscussed trade talks centered around the nine-time All-Star and future Hall of Famer.

On Wednesday, ESPN's Brian Windhorst confirmed everyone's suspicions, saying the Bucks called the Knicks because Antetokounmpo told the organization he wanted to join New York.

"People were like, 'Oh my god, he deleted a photo from May that had a Bucks logo,'" Windhorst said with a chuckle on ESPN Cleveland. "He asked to be traded already."

What does Antetokounmpo's future hold?

Antetokounmpo is having another superb year on the court, but the Bucks are just 1-5 when he has not played. They are 9-8 when he does play.

There may be future rumors about Antetokounmpo's potential move to the Knicks, but it seems he will stay in Milwaukee this season.

"What appears is that Giannis committed himself for the season to the Bucks," Windhorst said. "But the Bucks are not good... I know he asked for a trade, and then he said, 'Okay, I'm gonna be a Buck this year.' But I know that a lot of people in the league don't think he will be a Buck next year."
