This gives Brent Venables and his staff a major late-cycle boost ahead of next week’s early signing period. Hatton come to Norman ESPN’s No. 8 running back and No. 71 overall prospect in the 2026 class, had been committed to Texas A&M since March.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound standout from Cibolo Steele (Texas) initially pledged to Oklahoma in 2024 before decommitting amid staff changes, but the Sooners stayed persistent throughout his recruitment. His return boosts a 2026 class that entered the week ranked 21st nationally and now features four ESPN 300 prospects, including five-star defensive end Jake Kreul and dual-threat quarterback Bowe Bentley.

Hatton joins fellow four-star rusher DeZephen Walker in a group expected to address one of Oklahoma’s biggest needs. He has rushed for more than 1,200 yards in three straight high school seasons and is currently leading Steele on a deep playoff run.

Oklahoma is expected to remain aggressive on the trail, pursuing several potential flips as Venables looks to capitalize on the Sooners’ 9-2 season and College Football Playoff push.
