Director Jon M. Chu and stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande returned to Oz this past weekend as Wicked: For Good changed the box office for the better, and it is all most people are talking about. Although facing a more divisive response than its 2024 predecessor, For Good has bested the first half of this stage musical adaptation at the box office, returning a hugely impressive $226 million in just a few days. However, contrary to what the discourse may suggest, Wicked: For Good isn't the only movie currently in theaters.

Officially finishing in second place this weekend in the domestic ranks is Now You See Me: Now You Don't, the third installment in the magical franchise that saw Wicked's Chu direct the previous sequel. Earning a further $9.1 million from nationwide theaters this weekend, the film has now hit the $78 million mark worldwide, enough to see it pass James Mangold's 3:10 to Yuma, a remake of the 1957 film of the same name and a fellow Lionsgate movie. Starring Academy Award winner Russell Crowe, 3:10 to Yuma earned $71 million in global revenue during its 2007 theatrical run.

Helmed by Ruben Fleischer, Now You See Me: Now You Don't features a star-studded cast including Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, Ariana Greenblatt, and The Holdovers breakout Dominic Sessa. A synopsis for the threequel reads, "The Four Horsemen return along with a new generation of illusionists performing mind-melding twists, turns, surprises, and magic unlike anything ever captured on film."

What Else Is in Theaters Right Now?

The top two in the domestic ranks this weekend are Wicked: For Good and Now You See Me: Now You Don't. But what else is currently playing in theaters? Director Dan Trachtenberg's Predator: Badlands took home a cool $6.25 million to finish in third place, with the latest Stephen King adaptation, The Running Man, finishing fourth with $5.8 million, and the debuting Rental Family rounding out the top five with $3.3 million. Other films currently vying for your ticket purchase in theaters include Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone's Bugonia, the latest Colleen Hoover adaptation, Regretting You, SISU: Road to Revenge, the spine-chilling Black Phone 2, and much more.

Now You See Me: Now You Don't is currently playing in theaters. Make sure to stay tuned to Collider for the latest box office updates.
