LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Kentucky returned to Rupp Arena on Tuesday night to open a jam-packed week of games, starting with North Carolina in the ACC/SEC Challenge.
It was a back-and-forth battle from the opening tip, and despite going 0-for-3 from deep in the first half, Kentucky kept pace and went into halftime tied at 31.

The second half mirrored the first in terms of scoring, but Kentucky was outmatched on the glass. North Carolina’s dominance on the boards fueled a ten-minute scoring drought for the Cats and led to crucial second-chance points for the Tar Heels.
Collin Chandler had a chance to put Kentucky in front on the final possession but couldn’t get it to fall. In the end, the Cats dropped their third straight game against a top opponent, 67–64.
The tough slate does not stop; Kentucky now turns its eyes to Gonzaga who it will face on Friday in Nashville.
