On Tuesday the Cincinnati Bengals announced they signed undrafted free agent rookie cornerback Jalen Kimber to their practice squad.

Kimber, who played his college ball for Penn State University, went undrafted but was signed by the Tennessee Titans, who waived him on final cuts. The Buffalo Bills then claimed him for their practice squad, but he was released in mid October.

He’ll join the Bengals’ practice squad after cornerback Jalen Davis was signed to the active roster following his two solid showings over the last two weeks.

Kimber, who stands at 6-0 and weighs 190 pounds, has a solid size to speed ratio, but he sometimes lacks the quickness needed to stay on the hip of his receiver, and he needs to develop better in run support. While athletic, he lacks some instincts, which is apparent from his one career interception. While in Happy Valley, Kimber appeared in all 16 games of his senior season, and totaled 35 tackles and three pass break ups.
