The Cougars flipped talented 2026 safety Jackson Williams away from Tulane — just days after Jon Sumrall accepted the head coaching job at Florida.

Over the last few weeks leading into National Signing Day, the Washington State staff spent a lot of time around New Orleans making a compelling case for the Louisiana prospect to head West to Pullman.
“Great education, Development and overall growth,” Williams told Rivals of his decision to commit and sign with Washington State.
“I will be able to go and compete as a freshman and represent South Louisiana Football,” he added.
The Cougars have been especially active in recruiting The Boot in this 2026 recruiting cycle.

Williams is the No. 130 safety in the class and the No. 38 overall prospect in the state for this cycle.
