NORMAN — Fresh off its 10th win of the season over LSU, OU football was ranked No. 8 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday.
If the season ended Tuesday, the Sooners would be the No. 8 seed and hosting No. 9-seeded Alabama at Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in the first round. The winner would play No. 1-seeded Ohio State.

The Sooners are poised to make the playoff for the first time since 2019.
OU's two losses were to No. 6 Ole Miss and No. 13 Texas. OU's best wins are over No. 9 Alabama on the road and No. 19 Michigan at home.
